Hello friends thought I would share the birth of Leah she is my feisty 8 soon to be 9-year-old daughter. She is a joy to have in my life. God has blessed me with my beautiful girls. I was married to my husband for 7 years before we found out in 2009 that I was pregnant. We never talked about having kids together, he had two girls from a previous marriage at time I met him. They were 5 and 8 years old at that me. They are both grown and live a beautiful life. When I found out I was having a baby I was so happy and having a baby would complete my family. I had complications during my pregnancy, my Doctor prescribed me blood pressure medication. I thought to myself how can this be I was running 5-6 miles everyday on the treadmill and I ate healthy. My due date was scheduled for January of 2010. Well we did not make it that far. I gave birth to Leah in October at 26 weeks she was a preemie baby. I still remember the day I went into the Doctor’s office for complications and they quickly sent me to the hospital to tell me I was in preterm labor! I was scared and did not know what to expect. I remember the exact show that was on TV while giving birth. It was the Philadelphia Phillies playoff. The Doctors explained to both my husband and I what complications we may encounter during her stay in the NICU. She spent 3 months in the NICU. I must admit my eyes were glued to her monitors, the beeping sounds frightened me. The nurses and doctors were amazing in taking care of the little ones. For Leah being born so early we were one of the lucky parents as to not have encountered major complications. We got one call the entire time she was in the hospital and it really was not a major one. It was getting closer for her to come home. We spent Halloween and Thanksgiving at the hospital with our little girl. It was in December when I got the call saying she was ready to come home and guess what it was two days before Christmas. I was at work when I received the call. It was the best Christmas gift I have ever received. I have experienced alot through out the past 8 years. While I was giving birth to Leah my Mother was going thru Chemo therapy but I will have to share that story in another blog. Thanks for stopping by and reading my story of Leah.
